Membership Classes

RCTV offers on-going classes for all members in areas (but not limited to):


Concepts and practice of digital photography, including understanding and use of the camera, lenses, and other basic photographic equipment.

Studio Production

Use of all studio equipment, including camera operations, lighting, and audio, as well as control-room equipment, such as the studio switcher, audio mixer, and camera controls.

DSLR Training

Learn the principles and applicable skills of operating a DSLR camera for video production, and some techniques and strategies for shooting high definition video. 

Remote Camera Shoots

Through hands-on practice with a camera and tripod, you will learn how to the principal skills of shooting in the field, such as proper shot composition and audio recording using external microphones.


This editing class covers using the Adobe Premiere workspace, transitions, effects and filters, editing audio, exporting your work, and more.


Learn all of the skills you need to design your own graphics from start to finish.

Classes can be designed for 1-4 people and can work around your schedule. These classes are great for beginners through advanced and can be geared to an individual’s current skill set. They can be as long or as short as needed and meet for as many classes as necessary to gain the skills and knowledge you are looking for.

Intro to Photography for Ages 9-14
Instructor: Anna Cuevas
Mondays, 4:00-5:00pm
Sept. 30 – Dec. 16 (No class 10/14, 11/11; Make-Up if needed 12/23)
10 weeks
Cost: $140*
In this 10-week class, students will learn the basics of photography including camera settings, depth of field, shot composition, and movement. 

From Script to Screen for Ages 10-15
Instructor: Angela Merrill
Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30 pm
Oct. 1 – Dec. 10 (No class 11/2: Make-Up if needed 12/17)
10 weeks
Cost: $210*
In this 10-week class students will first learn how to develop a script for TV or film and then take that script and turn it into a short film or TV episode. Students will learn scriptwriting, camera composition, and editing. This class culminates with a final viewing for family and friends!

Screen Acting for Ages 8-12
Instructor: Angela Merrill
Thursdays, 3:15-4:15 pm
Oct. 3 – Dec. 19 (No class 10/31, 11/28: Make-Up if needed, 1/2)
10 weeks
Cost: $140*
In this 10-week course, students will work together to learn how to organize a script, basic camera work, acting, and basic editing. This class culminates with a final viewing for family and friends!

Video Production for Ages 10-15
Instructor: Angela Merrill
Thursdays, 4:30-5:30 pm
Oct. 3 – Dec. 19 (No class 10/31, 11/28: Make-Up if needed, 1/2)
10 weeks
Cost: $140*
In this 10-week course, you will get hands-on experience with video cameras and editing software while producing PSA’s, commercials and/or movie trailers.

You bring the pumpkin, we supply the tools.

RCTV’s 72 Hour Film Festival 2019


Production teams will work together for 72 hours to write, shoot, edit and deliver a 2-7 minute short film.  Each team will be randomly assigned a genre that their film MUST fit into, as well as a character, prop, line of dialogue and Reading 375 event that MUST be in the film.

At least one member of each registered team MUST attend the Kick-off event at RCTV Studios on Thursday, June 6th to draw genres and to receive the required elements.  Teams then have 72 hours (until 7:30 pm on Sunday, June 9th) to deliver to RCTV a fictional narrative film in the genre; including all other required elements. Members of nearby public access studios are welcome to participate.

Three-Day TV Acting Workshop

In this three-day workshop, you will learn how to create a script, use professional cameras and gain the acting skills necessary to be the star of your own one-of-a-kind TV show!

One-Week Video Production Workshop

During this week long workshop, you will learn techniques that are necessary in video
production. Learn what it takes to properly script-write, direct, crew, act and edit your own
unique television show or short film. Teachers will guide you thru programs such as: Celtx, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop, as well as, state-of-the-art camera equipment and even chroma-key to help you create a masterpiece. Viewing for Family and Friends on the final day at 4:30pm.
