Fall events in store at RCTV
- Reading Advocate, Thursday, September 23, 2004
- As part of RCTV's Membership Month, RCTV will be kicking off the fall programming season with many special events. Every Reading resident can use RCTV in one way or another. PTOs and other parent groups can use the station's portable equipment to videotape their children's school activities.
- Groups focusing on fund-raising for scholastic programs can organize a live telethon or other types of televised fundraisers. They can also hold live roundtable discussions on education and receive input from other Reading parents by phone call-in.
- Parents are not the only people who can utilize RCTV to further their own activities. Community groups can inform residents for their organizations, thus bringing in more members. Reading Pop Warner Parents use RCTV to videotape their children's sporting events for other parents who are unable to attend the games, and for the kids to be stars on TV. The United Methodist Church, The First Baptist Church and The Unitarian Universalist Church all videotape their Sunday worship services so those unable to attend in person can still feel connected with the congregation.
- Feedback received from these groups proves that RCTV has, in fact, helped them to further their own missions. If you would like to help cover these events, for more information on RCTV or becoming a member call Phil Rushworth at 781-944-8888.
